Why do I make jewelry? Simply put, I love to create beautiful things. When I see people wearing my creations, it brings a huge smile to my face. It makes it worth all of the work that is behind me.
Clarity Glassworks is based out of my own personal little studio in Portland, Maine. I sell my work at arts & crafts shows, street fairs, gallery hops, online, at jewelry parties, and in small boutiques across the country. Upcoming events are always listed online.
The working process to create my jewelry is very labor intensive. While most fused glass jewelry only takes one firing, my work goes in the kiln two to six times. In between firings, I am cutting, layering, grinding, applying decals. The working process that I use is unqiue and requires a lot of skill and understanding of kilnformed glass. This also allows me to truly customize my work.
For those who are interested in my arts background: I'm a trained sculptor and glass worker.
In 2009, I completed my Master of Fine Arts in Glass at The Ohio State University. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Three-Dimensional Studies, Glass and Metalsmithing) from Bowling Green State University in 2006. My work is often based on personal narratives and has been shown across the country in galleries. My online portfolio is located at bhaeseler.com
